“In the Sacred Heart, every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. In that divine heart beats God’s infinite love for everyone and for each of us as individuals.”  – St. John Paul II

It is with great excitement we share that renovations will begin at Sacred Heart Church this June. Through these changes, our goal is to further beautify the space by building upon the vision of the original architects and incorporating modern yet timeless elements that will add greater dignity to the liturgical environment, and in turn engage and uplift the faithful in their celebration of the sacred mysteries.

As preparations get underway, we would like to share with you what you can expect over the next seven months, and what changes will be coming to our Mass schedule due to these renovations.

Through the completion of renovations, we will follow the below schedule for Masses and programs held at Sacred Heart:

  • Monday and Friday 12:00 pm Masses: St. Mary Church, 59 E. Merrill Ave., Fond du Lac
  • Wednesday 6:00 pm Mass: Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac
  • Saturday 4:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 and 11:00 am Masses: St. Mary Church
  • Sunday 7:00 am Mass in Spanish: Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church

During renovations, we will offer Adoration at Presentation. Adoration will take place every day from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm, except for when Mass is celebrated. Our 6:00 pm Holy Hour in Spanish and 7:00 pm Holy Hour in English usually held at Sacred Heart will take place at Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 705 Michigan Ave., North Fond du Lac

All of our Eucharistic Ministers who serve our homebound parishioners will be asked to either pick up Holy Communion at Holy Family Church, or at Mass. We thank our ministers, and all of our volunteers, for their service to these ministries.

    Renovation Update – October 10, 2025

Four months into renovations at Sacred Heart Church, we wanted to share an update with you on where construction stands, and the substantial progress that has been made in updating our beloved church. In late June and early July, all furnishings, decorations, and pews were removed from Sacred Heart and placed in storage.

Many aspects of the project have been designed and crews around the state are currently working to make them. Artists are designing the mosaic behind the altar, which will replace the wood paneling that had been there. Lighting is in the manufacturing phase and should arrive in the next month. Sound technicians are in the final stages of designing the best sound for the sanctuary. A craftsman out of Soldier’s Grove, Wisconsin, is beautifully crafting wood for the space, and we recently finalized the wood stain color to match that of the other wood in Sacred Heart. Crews have removed the flooring, and carpeting and tiling are currently in the final stages of approval, including designs for floor medallions which we have finalized. The bathrooms were gutted to install new plumbing, and painting and tiling will soon take place. We are in the process of laying out the cabinetry for the vesting sacristy, working sacristy, Altar Server area, and hospitality room, and are awaiting renderings of the altar and remaining stonework. We have also purchased used statues of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph which T. H. Stemper Co. is refurbishing.

We look forward to sharing more updates with you soon. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we bring new life to Sacred Heart!
