On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord—the last feast of the liturgical year commemorating Christ as an infant—we will celebrate the Feast of Candlemas at the 7:00 am Mass at Holy Family and 12:00 pm Mass at St. Mary on Monday, February 2. In celebration, parishioners are invited to bring candles from home to be blessed at Masses that day.

Young adults are invited to join us as we celebrate the Memorial of St. Agnes, Virgin and Martyr with Mass and a talk! St. Agnes is the patron saint of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, who founded Marian University, St. Mary’s Springs, and St. Agnes Hospital here in Fond du Lac. At noon on Wednesday, January 21, join us on your lunch hour for university-wide Mass at Marian University’s Dorcas Chapel. You can also attend Mass that night at 6:00 pm at Holy Family. Then, after the evening Mass, come to the Fireside Room for a talk on St. Agnes, Virgin Martyrs, and the Early Church.
Women are invited to a peaceful morning retreat of prayer, Mass, and fellowship at our Holy Family Women’s Ministry “Sharing Our Journey: A Morning Retreat” on Saturday, January 17 from 7:00 to 10:30 am at Holy Family Church and Hall. The day will include Confession/Adoration, praying the Rosary, Mass with Fr. Fernando, breakfast by our Holy Family’s Men’s Group, and a talk from Holy Family parishioner and Catholic speaker Reese Neumann on the perseverance of faith through her journey of adoption, injuries, and redemptive suffering. Reese Neumann is a 2023 graduate of St. Mary's Springs Academy. As well as being a Catholic speaker, Reese is a poet, with her first book of poetry, Seasons of Something, in the works. She is currently a student at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin where she is working towards degrees in Secondary Education and English with a minor in Philosophy. Join us at the 8:00 am Mass at Holy Family on the First Saturday of the month for the Five First Saturdays Devotion. The Five First Saturdays Devotion is one of the principal points on the urgent need for mankind to offer reparation and expiate for the many injuries that the Immaculate Heart of Mary suffers from the hands of both the impious and the indifferent man. The devotion consists of: going to Confession; receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion; saying five decades of the Rosary; and mediating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary.

Talks will be recorded and posted online at a later date. On December 4, parents attending our Advent Priest Talk can bring their children to Holy Family Hall, where they will take an amazing journey into scripture with Jesus to experience the “Annunciation”. This hands-on interactive experience will make the story come alive and help focus on the true meaning of Advent. As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, priests from throughout the Fond du Lac and Sheboygan area will offer 12 Hours of Reconciliation from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 11 at Holy Family Church, 271 Fourth Street Way. If you are unable to make that time, priests will also hear confessions on Tuesday, December 18 at St. Peter Claver Church, 1439 S. 12th St., Sheboygan. The Living Nativity is back and grander than ever before! Come see our beautiful retelling of the story of Jesus's birth with live animals, music from our choirs, and more in this popular event at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 7 at Holy Family Church. This year's production is sponsored by Catholic Financial Life, a Trusted Fraternal Life Brand. Those in attendance will be guided through the story by a narrator, voiced by Pruess, and the beautiful music of the Holy Family Choirs and string musicians. Songs featured this year include familiar Christmas carols as well as “The Wexford Carol,” “Brightest and Best,” “We Three Kings,” and the famous “Hallelujah Chorus.” Holy Family staff, clergy, and volunteers, from children to adults, will don costumes to transform into the who’s who of the Nativity—shepherds, the Inn Keeper and his wife, angels, Wise Men, and of course, the Holy Family, portrayed by a family from the parish who recently welcomed a baby.
