The Holy Family Quilters meet every Tuesday morning from 8:00 to 10:00 am in the St. Mary's Church basement. All the quilts that we make go to the less fortunate people in the area. We also make lap quilts for the area nursing homes. We can use small pieces or yardage of new material to make the tops and clean blankets and mattress pads, also any sewing items. These items can be dropped off at the church office, or call Dorothy, 921-5543, or Catherine, 539-0313 for pick up.
Join us for “Healing the Whole Person: Engaging Your Story,” an 8-week series that provides the framework for understanding and receiving Christ’s healing and peace in the heart of the Catholic Church. Using videos featuring Dr. Bob Schuchts & Sr. Miriam James Heidland presenting the John Paul II Healing Center's Healing the Whole Person teachings, each session includes a guided prayer experience and a workbook journaling activity for private reflection and prayer. There will also be opportunities to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The program will meet Wednesdays, May 1-June 26 from 6:45 to 8:30 pm at Sacred Heart School and Church. Those who participate are invited to attend the 6:00 pm Mass at Sacred Heart. The final class will include this Mass. Join us at the 8:00 am Mass at Holy Family on the First Saturday of the month for the Five First Saturdays Devotion. The Five First Saturdays Devotion is one of the principal points on the urgent need for mankind to offer reparation and expiate for the many injuries that the Immaculate Heart of Mary suffers from the hands of both the impious and the indifferent man. The devotion consists of: going to Confession; receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion; saying five decades of the Rosary; and mediating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary.

On Wednesday, May 8, come to the Holy Family Warming Shelter, 73 E. First St., to help us close down the Holy Family Warming Shelter for the season and enjoy Popeyes' chicken. On Wednesday, May 15, we will celebrate and crown our Lady as Queen of Heaven and Earth at our May Crowning at Sacred Heart at 6:45 pm. After the crowning, we will enjoy custard!

Kids of all ages, particularly those in grades pre-K through sixth, are invited to join us after the 10:00 am Mass at Holy Family Church on the second Sunday of the month for the parish’s fun Faith Builders Club for Kids! Children will enjoy a short mini lesson about the Catholic faith, which will include a video and a craft, while parents enjoy refreshments in the Fireside Room. Support the Daughters of Isabella when they host their fundraiser at Culver’s, 969 E. Johnson St., from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21. The fundraiser will support the group’s charity funds.
