Genesis to Jesus from St. Paul Center

What is the Bible, where does it come from, and what is its purpose? How are Catholics supposed to read the Bible and what story does it tell? These are the ever-important questions answered in Genesis to Jesus. Join us to learn the basic Catholic principles for reading Scripture and to survey the broad outlines of the books of the Bible and their place in the story of salvation. The group meets at two times: Mondays, September 12-December 5 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Holy Family South Hall OR Fridays, September 9-December 9 (excluding November 25) from 6:00 to 7:30 am in the Holy Family South Hall. Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance from Ascension

Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance examines many important themes that are still relevant in today’s Christian culture and society—the nature of marriage, the purpose and role of the Church, the preeminence of grace in God’s plan, and the reality of spiritual warfare. Presenter Jeff Cavins explores what Paul’s letter to the Ephesians tells us about the nature of the Church—as a body, a household, a mystery, a communion, a bride, and an army. Ephesians: Discover Your Inheritance shows the treasures that await us as adopted sons and daughters in the family of God. The group will meet Fridays, September 23-November 18 (excluding October 14) from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the Holy Family Fireside Room. Praying the Liturgy of the Hours: A Practical and Informative Introduction

Do you struggle with consistency in prayer? Or finding words for prayer? Would you like to enter more into the liturgical seasons and the prayer of the universal Church? By tradition going back to early Christian times, the Liturgy of the Hours makes holy the whole course of the day and night by the praises of God. Join us as Dr. Mike Brummond, doctorate in Sacred Theology, explains the Liturgy of the Hours, the impact it can have on our spiritual life, and the practical tools to begin praying it. Dr. Brummond will speak at Holy Family from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, October 21 and 9:00 am to noon on Saturday, October 22. On October 21, you will learn about the Liturgy of the Hours and October 22, you will go through the structure and the character of the Liturgy of the Hours, as well as the mechanics of Morning Evening Prayer.  To sign up, use the form below:
