Genesis to Jesus from St. Paul Center

What is the Bible, where does it come from, and what is its purpose? How are Catholics supposed to read the Bible and what story does it tell? These are the ever-important questions answered in Genesis to Jesus. Join us to learn the basic Catholic principles for reading Scripture and to survey the broad outlines of the books of the Bible and their place in the story of salvation. The group meets at two times: Mondays, September 12-December 5 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Holy Family South Hall OR Fridays, September 9-December 9 (excluding November 25) from 6:00 to 7:30 am in the Holy Family South Hall. Required Materials: Genesis to Jesus Workbook ($25), A Father Who Keeps His Promises by Scott Hahn ($19 if ordered through Holy Family, cheaper on Amazon), Catholic Bible, & Catechism of the Catholic Church. The Turning Point – Eight Encounters with Jesus That Will Change Your Life by Allen Hunt

Welcome to the Gospel of John—a whole new way to encounter Jesus. How well do you know Jesus? Do you want to get to know him better? Have you ever really encountered him? Have you been waiting a long time to do so? This study will introduce you to people and stories you won’t meet or find anywhere else in the Bible. Your goal will be to personally meet Jesus yourself—to discover that He is your one true spiritual home and to develop a more significant relationship with Him. The group will meet Fridays, September 2-November 11 (excluding September 16 and October 21) from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Limit 15 attendees.
