Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. | 1 Peter 1:3

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we come together this Easter, it gives me great pleasure to once again proclaim for all to hear: Alleluia! He is Risen! Our churches are open, most restrictions are removed and there is nothing separating us (physically) from the sacraments. We are back!

I am so grateful to God that we have turned the corner, and it appears the world is getting past the COVID pandemic. Looking back at this time two years ago, we made the decision to close our churches to public Mass and the sacraments as we fought to overcome the unknown virus. It was one of the hardest decisions we as a Church ever had to make, and one I hope will never happen again. We need to be in communion with God and each other at Mass, as we are called to fully embrace the Gift of Sunday in our lives.

I ask you, my dear brothers and sisters, how will you take what you experienced these last two years, and apply it to your life moving forward? Will you continue to grow in your love for God and one another by attending Mass more reverently, praying more consistently, and experiencing the Sacrament of Reconciliation more often? Will you offer personal sacrifices for the conversion of sinners, and make a commitment to attend daily Mass and say the rosary as often as possible? Will you keep your eyes on Jesus as you strive toward your heavenly reward? To all of these and more, I say yes!

This Easter and beyond, I invite you to come to Mass and experience the Lord’s unending love for you. Receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and feel at peace. God loves you and wants to be in communion with you – will you answer His call?

Alabemos al Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, quien por su gran misericordia nos ha hecho nacer de nuevo para una esperanza viva, por medio de la resurrección de Jesucristo de entre los muertos. | 1 Pedro 1,3

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo:

Al celebrar juntos esta Pascua, es para mí un gran placer proclamar una vez más para que todos escuchen: ¡Aleluya! ¡Jesús ha resucitado! Nuestras iglesias están abiertas, la mayoría de las restricciones se han eliminado y no hay nada que nos separe (físicamente) de los sacramentos. ¡Estamos de vuelta juntos!

Estoy tan agradecido a Dios porque hemos comenzado a recuperarnos, y parece que el mundo está superando la pandemia de COVID. Haciendo memoria, durante este tiempo hace dos años, tomamos la decisión de cerrar nuestras iglesias y nos vimos forzados a dejar de ofrecer la Misa y los sacramentos de manera pública, mientras luchábamos por superar este virus desconocido. Fue una de las decisiones más difíciles que tuvimos que tomar como Iglesia, algo que espero nunca más vuelva a suceder. Necesitamos estar en comunión con Dios y con nuestros hermanos en la Misa, ya que estamos llamados a acoger plenamente el Don del Domingo en nuestras vidas.

Les pregunto, mis queridos hermanos y hermanas, ¿cómo asimilarán lo que experimentaron estos últimos dos años y cómo lo aplicarán a su vida en el futuro? ¿Continuarán creciendo en su amor a Dios y al prójimo asistiendo a Misa con más reverencia, orarán más consistentemente y vivirán el Sacramento de la Reconciliación con más frecuencia? ¿Ofrecerán sacrificios personales para la conversión de los pecadores y se comprometerán a asistir a la Misa diaria y rezar el Rosario tan a menudo como sea posible? ¿Mantendrán sus ojos fijos en Jesús mientras se esfuerzan por alcanzar su recompensa celestial? A todo esto y más, ¡digo que sí!

Este Domingo de Pascua, los invito a que vengan siempre a Misa para experimentar el amor inagotable que el Señor tiene por ustedes. Asimismo, les invito a recibir el Sacramento de la Reconciliación para sentirse en paz. Dios los ama y quiere estar en comunión con ustedes, ¿responderán a Su llamado?
