Changes coming to Holy Family Tabernacle location
Dear Friends,
Last year, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops began a multi-year Eucharist Revival designed to help each of us foster a deeper understanding and devotion to the great mystery of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist.
After consultation with the Priest team, Pastoral Council, Worship Commission, and our Arts and Environment Committee, one of the ways that we hope to do this at Holy Family is by relocating the tabernacle at Holy Family Church from the side chapel into the sanctuary of our main church.
The tabernacle is the place where the Eucharist is stored safely between Masses. The movement of the tabernacle into the sanctuary of the Church will help all of us better understand the reality that our community is centered not on an abstract idea or vague purpose but is centered on the person of Jesus Christ.
Placing the tabernacle in the sanctuary, where we all gather to pray, is a visible reminder that we are the body of Christ with Jesus as our head. It is through the Eucharist that we find the source and summit of our Faith and it is in the Eucharist that we are brought together as one.
My hope is that moving the Eucharist to the center of our Church (thus matching all of our other five church sites) will grant a deeper dignity to the Eucharist during Mass.
Over the next few weeks, we will be working with Capelle & Diedrich Construction to build a platform within the sanctuary. The platform will match the design of the existing floor in the sanctuary and will provide a raised place for the tabernacle to reside. Construction of the platform will take place the first week of June with the dedication of the new Tabernacle location taking place at the 10:00 am Mass on Sunday, June 18th.
In the coming months, our Worship Commission will discern the best options for the current Eucharistic chapel, but initial conversations appear to be leading us towards creating some type of devotional space for parishioners to use.

El año pasado, la Conferencia de Obispos Católicos de los Estados Unidos inició un Avivamiento Eucarístico de varios años diseñado para ayudarnos a cada uno de nosotros a fomentar una comprensión más profunda y una devoción al gran misterio de la presencia de Cristo en la Eucaristía.
Después de consultar con el equipo de Sacerdotes, el Consejo Pastoral, la Comisión de Adoración y nuestro Comité de Artes y Medio Ambiente, una de las formas en que esperamos hacer esto en Holy Family es reubicando el tabernáculo en la Iglesia de la Sagrada Familia de la capilla lateral al santuario de nuestra iglesia principal.
El tabernáculo es el lugar donde la Eucaristía se guarda de forma segura entre Misas. El movimiento del tabernáculo hacia el santuario de la Iglesia nos ayudará a todos a comprender mejor la realidad de que nuestra comunidad no se centra en una idea abstracta o un propósito vago, sino que se centra en la persona de Jesucristo.
Colocar el tabernáculo en el santuario, donde todos nos reunimos para orar, es un recordatorio visible de que somos el cuerpo de Cristo con Jesús como nuestra cabeza. Es a través de la Eucaristía que encontramos la fuente y cumbre de nuestra Fe y es en la Eucaristía que nos unimos como uno.
Mi esperanza es que mover la Eucaristía al centro de nuestra Iglesia (así coincidiendo con los otros cinco sitios de nuestras iglesias) otorgará una dignidad más profunda a la Eucaristía durante la Misa.
Durante las próximas semanas, trabajaremos con Capelle & Diedrich Construction para construir una plataforma dentro del santuario. La plataforma coincidirá con el diseño del piso existente en el santuario y proporcionará un lugar elevado para que resida el tabernáculo. La construcción de la plataforma se llevará a cabo la primera semana de junio y la dedicación de la nueva ubicación del Tabernáculo se llevará a cabo en la Misa de las 10:00 a. m. el domingo 18 de junio.
En los próximos meses, nuestra Comisión de Adoración discernirá las mejores opciones para la capilla eucarística actual, pero las conversaciones iniciales parecen estar guiándonos hacia la creación de algún tipo de espacio devocional para uso de los feligreses.
