Archbishop Listecki shares 2024 Christmas Message
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we gather to celebrate the joyous feast of Christmas, my heart is filled with gratitude for the gift of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and for my time with you as your archbishop. This sacred season reminds us of God’s immense love, manifested through the birth of His only Son. It is a time for reflection, renewal, and deepening of our faith as we embrace the hope and peace that Christ brings into our lives.
At the heart of our faith is the Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian life. The Eucharist is not merely a ritual we observe; it is the real presence of Jesus Christ, a divine gift that nourishes our souls and strengthens our spirits. This Christmas, I invite you to renew your commitment to the Eucharist, allowing it to transform your hearts and guide your lives.
I encourage you to take this season as an opportunity to deepen your faith through prayer, participation in the sacraments, and acts of compassion and generosity for those who are less fortunate; the lonely, the sick, and those who are struggling. Let the light of Christ shine through you, illuminating the path for others to follow. Together, let us build a community rooted in love, faith, and hope, a community that reflects the true meaning of Christmas.
May the peace and joy of Christ be with you and your loved ones during this blessed season. As I move into the next phase of life, my retirement, I encourage you to extend the same warm welcome our new archbishop, the Most Rev. Jeffrey Grob, as you did to me, and I close with my ceaseless reminder to love one another as Christ loves us.

Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
Al reunimos para celebrar la alegre fiesta de la Navidad, mi corazón rebosa de gratitud por el regalo de nuestro Salvador, Jesucristo, y por el tiempo que he tenido el honor de compartir con ustedes como su arzobispo. Este tiempo sagrado nos recuerda el inmenso amor de Dios, manifestado a través del nacimiento de su único Hijo. Es un tiempo para reflexionar, renovar y profundizar en nuestra fe, mientras abrazamos la esperanza y la paz que Cristo trae a nuestras vidas.
En el corazón de nuestra fe está la Eucaristía, fuente y cumbre de nuestra vida cristiana. La Eucaristía no es simplemente un ritual que observamos; la Eucaristía es la presencia real de Jesucristo, un don divino que nutre nuestras almas y fortalece nuestros espíritus. En esta Navidad, les invito a renovar su compromiso con la Eucaristía, permitiendo que transforme su corazón y guíe su vida.
Los animo a aprovechar esta temporada como una oportunidad para profundizar en su fe a través de la oración, la participación en los sacramentos y los actos de compasión y generosidad hacia los más desprotegidos, los que están solos, los enfermos y quienes están atravesando momentos difíciles.. Dejen que la luz de Cristo brille a través de ustedes, iluminando el camino que otros deben seguir. Juntos, construyamos una comunidad basada en el amor, la fe y la esperanza, una comunidad que refleje el verdadero significado de la Navidad.
Que la paz y la alegría de Cristo estén con ustedes y sus seres queridos durante esta temporada bendecida. Al pasar a la siguiente etapa de mi vida, mi jubilación, los animo a que le den la misma acogedora bienvenida, a nuestro nuevo arzobispo, Reverendísimo Jeffrey Grob, así como me la dieron a mí. Y termino con mi incesante recordatorio de amarnos los unos a los otros, como Cristo nos ama.
