I grew up on a farm in rural Belmont, which is located about 10 miles from Platteville in southwest Wisconsin. I am the second oldest in a family of six children and learned to cook at a young age as I was surrounded by 4 brothers. My family attended weekly mass and religious education classes at St. Philomena Parish in Belmont. After graduating high school, I attended UW-Stout and earned a degree in Home Economics in Business with a Concentration in Foods (similar to a Food Science degree). I then worked for 15 years in two different food manufacturing and ingredient businesses.
After my third son was born, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom. This was a very rewarding choice that I will always treasure. When all three of my kids were in school, I became a part-time secretary at the school that they attend in Brandon. Now that Matthew is in 11th grade, Mitchell is in 8th grade and Mason is in 5th grade, I am eager and excited to again work full time.
I am currently a member of Our Risen Savior Church in Woodhull where I help to coordinate our youth group and co-teach the 2nd and 3rd grade religion classes. I am also a co-general leader of our local 4-H club where my kids are members.
