Hi, my name is Manuel Santos, and I serve as the Bereavement Coordinator for Holy Family Catholic Parish and also manage the daily operations of the Holy Family Warming Shelter here in Fond du Lac.
As Bereavement Coordinator, I work closely with families during one of the most difficult times in their lives—helping them plan and carry out funeral liturgies with compassion, clarity, and care. I assist in selecting readings and music, coordinating with priests, musicians, and funeral homes, and making sure that every detail is in place for a meaningful and prayerful celebration of life. I also help prepare the church for each funeral and support the liturgical ministers involved, doing everything possible to ensure the family feels supported and at peace.
In my work with the Warming Shelter, I oversee shelter operations, manage client intake and documentation, and coordinate with staff, volunteers, and local partners to provide a safe and welcoming space for those experiencing homelessness. Every day brings new challenges, but also new opportunities to show dignity and compassion to those who need it most.
Whether I’m preparing a church for a funeral or opening the doors of the shelter for the night, my goal is always the same: to serve with respect, kindness, and a deep sense of purpose.
