Learn about the signs of drug and alcohol use and addiction, and how you can help your loved ones experiencing it at the "From Awareness to Action: Recognizing Substance Use in Your Family and Finding Support" presentation from FDL County Drug Court Coordinator Jennifer Laning, CSAC, on Tuesday, April 29 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm in Holy Family Hall. Laning will discuss signs that parents, grandparents, and guardians should look out for in their children, and how to identity various drugs. The presentation will also feature a talk from a member of the recovery community sharing their experience with addiction and recovery. Information will be available on resources accessible to those who are struggling with addiction and those who are in recovery.

The St. Ambrose Men’s Group hosts “That Man is You – Apostle of the New Springtime” every Wednesday. The morning includes a full breakfast, a video for the program at 6:00 am, and a small group discussion. That Man is You! honestly addresses the pressures and temptations that men face in our modern culture, especially those relating to their roles as husbands and fathers. The program harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive! The Five First Saturdays Devotion is one of the principal points on the urgent need for mankind to offer reparation and expiate for the many injuries that the Immaculate Heart of Mary suffers from the hands of both the impious and the indifferent man. The devotion consists of: going to Confession; receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion; saying five decades of the Rosary; and mediating for 15 minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary.

Join us for a beautiful family event honoring the Queen of Heaven at our May Crowning on Wednesday. Families are invited to bring a flower to place before our Lady at 6:45 pm, following the 6:00 pm Mass at Sacred Heart Church, in the Sacred Heart Church Grotto. First Communicants are encouraged to wear their First Communion outfits. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Adoration Chapel.
Why do we crown Our Lady, and what is the theological basis for her coronation? Fr. Matthew will discuss this at our “He is Truly Risen” talk this Wednesday evening at Sacred Heart Church. The talk will take place following the 6:00 pm Mass and our May Crowning for families. Following the talk, young adults are invited to enjoy a bonfire and games at the Victory Center.
