Holy Family, St. Katharine Drexel Shelter, Fond du Lac County United Way partner for Day of Compassion: Speak Out and Stand Up for Homelessness
On Tuesday, November 28 – Giving Tuesday – Holy Family will partner with the St. Katharine Drexel Shelter and Fond du Lac County United Way to raise awareness and funds for those experiencing homelessness in our community. The organizations selected Giving Tuesday as their Day of Compassion because it is a day that calls on people throughout the world to do good, be it through acts of service or through donations.
From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, volunteers will be outside the St. Katharine Drexel Shelter, 358 N. Peters Ave., to stand in solidarity with those who are homeless. We invite you to stop by the shelter during that time to learn more about homelessness and consider making a monetary donation or contributing hygiene and cleaning supplies to support those in need at our shelters and in our community.
If you would like to donate but you are unable to come to the shelter, we are also accepting monetary donations by clicking the button below. Donations will benefit the Holy Family Warming Shelter, St. Katharine Drexel Shelter, and Fond du Lac County United Way.
If you are interested in volunteering to take a one-hour shift outside the shelter, we are signing up individuals, groups, and organizations. There must be at least 2-3 people signed up per shift. Warm beverages will be provided. Sign up below.
