An Update on our Priest Team

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Archbishop Grob recently shared with us that Fr. Matthew will leave our parish in June to take on a new assignment within the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

For the past three years, Fr. Matthew has served our parish with great compassion, faith, and zeal. In collaboration with our Human Concerns Ministry, Fr. Matthew helped to establish the Holy Family Warming Shelter and provide our neighbors most in need with a warm place to stay in the winter. This past November, he hovered above the Warming Shelter in the wind, sleet, and snow to raise funds for the shelter’s season, collecting more than $190,000 through your generous donations.

As our Christian Formation Chaplain, Fr. Matthew has worked with our staff and catechists to help our parish’s children, youth, and young adults grow in their love of Christ. He has strengthened our bond with Marian University, ministering to and encouraging students and staff along their faith journey in partnership with Campus Ministry. At St. Mary’s Springs Academy, he served as the chaplain of the school’s football team. Over the past year, he has assisted with the renovations at Sacred Heart and been with our parishioners as they acclimated to one of our other parish churches during construction.

It is always difficult to say goodbye to one of our priests, and this is no exception. Although Fr. Matthew is leaving our community, I have no doubt that we will continue to see his impact throughout it, be it in our Christian Formation families, or the most vulnerable we serve. I also am sure that the relationships he forged here with you and the lessons you have taught him will serve him throughout his ministry as he takes on a pastor assignment. Our parish has been blessed to receive incredible priests, and the ripples of what they learn here Holy Family are felt throughout the Archdiocese, which is why our parish community continues to be entrusted with newly ordained priests.

While the Archdiocese has not yet told us which priest will join us this June, I am confident that they will serve our parish well. I look forward to sharing news on our new priest when we receive it and welcoming to him to our parish.

Una actualización sobre nuestro equipo de sacerdotes

Queridos hermanos y hermanas:

El Arzobispo Grob nos comunicó recientemente que el Padre Matthew dejará nuestra parroquia en junio para asumir una nueva misión dentro de la Arquidiócesis de Milwaukee.

Durante los últimos tres años, el Padre Matthew ha servido a nuestra parroquia con gran compasión, fe y celo. En colaboración con nuestro Ministerio de Asistencia Social, el Padre Matthew ayudó a establecer el Refugio de Invierno de la Sagrada Familia y a brindar a nuestros vecinos más necesitados un lugar cálido donde refugiarse durante el invierno. El pasado mes de noviembre, permaneció a la intemperie, bajo el viento, la aguanieve y la nieve, para recaudar fondos para la temporada del refugio, recolectando más de $190,000 gracias a sus generosas donaciones.

Como capellán de Formación Cristiana, el Padre Matthew ha trabajado con nuestro personal y catequistas para ayudar a los niños, jóvenes y adultos jóvenes de nuestra parroquia a crecer en su amor por Cristo. Ha fortalecido nuestro vínculo con la Universidad Marian, brindando apoyo espiritual y animando a estudiantes y personal en su camino de fe, en colaboración con el Ministerio Universitario. Durante el último año, ha colaborado en las renovaciones de la Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón y ha acompañado a nuestros feligreses mientras se adaptaban a una de nuestras otras iglesias parroquiales durante las obras.

Siempre es difícil despedirnos de uno de nuestros sacerdotes, y esta no es la excepción. Aunque el Padre Matthew deja nuestra comunidad, no me cabe duda de que seguiremos viendo su impacto en ella, ya sea en las familias de Formación Cristiana o en las personas más vulnerables a las que servimos. También estoy seguro de que las relaciones que forjó aquí con ustedes y las lecciones que aprendió les serán de gran utilidad en su ministerio pastoral. Nuestra parroquia ha sido bendecida con sacerdotes extraordinarios, y el impacto de lo que aprenden aquí en la Sagrada Familia se siente en toda la Arquidiócesis, razón por la cual nuestra comunidad parroquial sigue recibiendo a sacerdotes recién ordenados.

Si bien la Arquidiócesis aún no nos ha informado qué sacerdote se unirá a nosotros en junio, confío en que servirá bien a nuestra parroquia. Espero con ansias compartirles noticias sobre nuestro nuevo sacerdote cuando las recibamos y darle la bienvenida a nuestra parroquia.
