As part of National Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, Holy Family Catholic Community Associate Pastor Fr. Matthew Kirk will bundle up and climb up onto the roof of the Holy Family Warming Shelter on Tuesday, November 18 and remain on the roof until the shelter raises $55,000 – 25% of its annual budget – or until 5:00 pm when the shelter opens. This amount will provide a safe and stable sanctuary for about seven guests for the season.

As part of Reverend on the Roof, staff will be joined by community leaders throughout the day to discuss homelessness in Fond du Lac County and efforts to respond. The public will also have the opportunity to take tours of the shelter and learn more about how they can get involved.

For a donation, the community will have opportunities to send Fr. Matthew warm items, food, drinks, and comforts, as well as bathroom passes. While people are encouraged to stop by the shelter that day to make their donation, you can also make a donation now by clicking the button below. All donations made between now and November 18 will go towards the fundraising goal.

Like Fr. Matthew, those experiencing homelessness must endure the elements for hours if they do not have any shelter to go to. Unlike Fr. Matthew, however, without the support of the community, our neighbors in need may not have a warm place to go at the end of the day.

Thank you for your help to care for our neighbors in need!
