SUMMARY:Blue Mass
DESCRIPTION:All police officers\, firefighters\, corrections officers\, emergency dispatchers\, and EMS personnel are invited to attend Holy Family Catholic Community’s Blue Mass at 10:00 am on Sunday\, September 11 at Holy Family Church. The Mass will honor all those who serve and protect our community in the public safety field\, and pray for their future protection. \nThis Mass is celebrated annually throughout the United States in Catholic Churches for those employed in the public safety field. The color blue relates to the blue-colored uniforms predominately used by these services and were celebrated for the first time in the United States in 1934. \nThose who attend are encouraged to wear their uniforms and have a flag to representing their agency in the Gathering Space. A reception will follow with refreshments.
