Adult Formation
Becoming Catholic/Confirmation as an adultThe process for adults to be received into the Catholic community is modeled after an ancient tradition called the “catechumenate.” It is now called “The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults” (RCIA). This process includes those who are not baptized and baptized Christians of other denominations. This process includes a period of inquiry to familiarize participants with the Church and local faith community, followed by a time of instruction, study and spiritual formation. Those desiring to complete their initiation into the life of the church are usually baptized and/or confirmed during the celebration of the Easter Vigil. Interested adults should contact the Christian Formation Office. |
